Goa Beaches - Wonders of
Incredible India
|
|
Goa, an endearing abode of
scenic charm is a paradise, squeezed between the seas and the lush
forested hills. Offering glistening sands, swaying coconut palms, and
ultra fresh seafood. Your Goa Tours will involve exploring sensuous
beaches and historical forts that have kept the legacy of Portuguese
alive. Travel to Goa, to explore the mystical charisma of the exotic
abode. It is a promise that Goa will add some golden moments in your
life.
Anjuna Beach
Anjuna Beach has the dubious title of being the freak capital of the
world. In the 1950s and subsequently the 1960s travelers discovered
this Goa beach and began to meet on a regularbasis to hold trance
parties. The psychedelic scene that emerged made Anjuna one of the
most popular beaches in Goa for some time. While the reputation of
Anjuna has changed slightly in recent years, its popularity has far
from dwindled.
Baga Beach
Nestled between the popular Colva and Calangute beaches, Baga beach
Goa is one of Goas more restrained beaches. Western tourists use it as
a base camp for fishing instead of for water sports or all night
partying. Visit Baga beach Goa in the middle of the night and youre
more likely to see the late night fishermen than you are the
psychedelic parties associated with some of the other Goa beach
resorts. Baga remains an unspoiled natural gem with white sand and
lapping ocean waves framed perfectly by the rustling palm trees around
the beach.
Benaulim Beach
Benaulim beach is an incredibly well known fishing beach in Goa.
Despite this fame for its prized catches and incredibly laid back
atmosphere, Benaulim beach is a quiet and peaceful beach situated
right next to Colva beach in Goa. This means that while you can enjoy
the peace and tranquility of sharing your Goan beach with a few
friendly fishermen, you can also take advantage of the nearby
amenities if you so wish. As well as the propensity for relaxing under
the beautiful sun, Benaulim beach also has small buildings that serve
food and drinks whenever you want them.
Bogmalo Beach
Bogmalo beach is relatively quiet Goa beach resort. The village itself
was primarily a fishing village and despite the introduction and
increase of a now thriving tourist industry around the area, Bogmalo
village remains a quaint and attractive village. This Goa beach resort
is perfect for bathers because the water does not feature the
potentially hazardous under currents and rip tides that other beaches
in Goa have. Because of the thriving tourist industry in and around
Goa as a whole, there are plenty of modern restaurants and eateries as
well as boutiques mixed in with traditional craft shops and buildings.
Pololem Beach
Palolem beach is a beach in Goa that has done well thanks to tourism
without losing any of its original appeal or local way of life. Since
tourists first discovered this beautiful beach in Goa the only
immediately noticeable difference is the number of shacks that have
materialized on the beach itself selling food, drink and souvenirs of
the region. That said, there arent that many and the ones that are
there do add to the appeal of this picturesque Goan beach, not detract
from it.
Calangute Beach
A 45 minute bus ride up to the coast from the city of Panjim bring one
to Calangute, Goa's busiest and most commercialized resort, and the
flagship of the state government's bid for a bigger slice of India's
package-tourist pie. This peaceful fishing village was a favourite
hideout of the hippies in the 70's and 80's. Today, Calangute beach
symbolise Goa's reputation as a haven for beach and coastal splendour
Calangute's nightlife is surprisingly tamed and provide a nice break
from the wild parties at Anjuna. All but a handful of the bars wind up
by 10.00 pm.
Dona Paula Beach
At the place where two of Goa's famous rivers meet the Arabian Sea is
the secluded bay of Dona Paula with a fine view of the Marmagoa
Harbour. This beach of Goa carries with it an aura of both romance and
myth - haunted by Dona Paula de Menezes; tourists throng the Dona
Paula beach not only in search of the deceased beloved, but also to
indulge in water sports on the clear waters. Named after Dona Paula de
Menezes, the Dona Paula beach is popularly known as the "Lovers
Paradise". |
